Morocco's Digital Development Agency (ADD) has conducted a comprehensive review of the impact of Gitex Africa, the continent's largest technology exhibition, after four editions. The event, held annually in Marrakech, has become a key platform for showcasing African innovation and attracting global investment.
According to official reports, Gitex Africa has significantly boosted Morocco's digital economy, facilitating partnerships between local startups and international tech giants. The ADD noted that the event has helped position Morocco as a leading tech hub in Africa, with increased interest from foreign investors and tech entrepreneurs.
The review highlighted that the four editions have generated substantial business deals and fostered innovation across various sectors, including fintech, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. The ADD emphasized the importance of continuing to support such events to sustain the growth of the digital ecosystem.
However, the agency also pointed out areas for improvement, such as enhancing the participation of smaller startups and ensuring that the benefits of the event are more widely distributed across the continent. The ADD plans to work with organizers to address these challenges in future editions.
