MANILA, Philippines — The Southwest Monsoon, locally known as 'habagat,' is expected to bring rains to the northern parts of the Philippines on Sunday, July 19, 2026, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its weather forecast, PAGASA said the habagat may affect Northern and Central Luzon, including areas such as Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley. The monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
PAGASA advised residents in these areas to take precautions against possible flash floods or landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous regions. The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
No tropical cyclone is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the coming days, but the habagat continues to be the dominant weather system affecting the country.
