Moroccan football club Moghreb Athletic Tetouan (MAS) has officially appointed Portuguese coach Rui Almeida as the new head of its first team, according to club sources. Almeida replaces Abdelhadi Sektioui, who left the position earlier this month.
Rui Almeida, 56, brings extensive experience from clubs in Portugal, Saudi Arabia, and North Africa. He previously coached teams such as Farense, Al-Faisaly, and USM Alger. His appointment is part of MAS's strategy to strengthen the squad ahead of the upcoming Botola Pro season.
The club announced the decision on July 15, 2026, after negotiations with Almeida's representatives. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed. MAS finished 8th in the previous season and aims to improve its standing under the new coach.
