Morocco and Djibouti are moving to deepen their cooperation in the field of supreme audit of public finances. This was the focus of a meeting held Monday in Rabat between Zineb El Adaoui, First President of Morocco's Court of Accounts, and Aden Mohamed Ali, President of Djibouti's Superior Court of Accounts, according to a statement from the Moroccan institution.
The discussions centered on structuring a sustainable partnership, including the exchange of expertise and best practices in public finance control, audit methodologies, and the training of auditors. Both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional capacities to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of public funds.
The meeting aligns with Morocco's broader strategy to enhance South-South cooperation, particularly with African nations. Djibouti's delegation also visited the Court of Accounts' training institute to explore potential collaboration in capacity-building programs.
No specific timeline or budget for the cooperation was announced. The agreement is part of ongoing efforts to harmonize audit standards across the continent.
