Morocco plans to increase its hotel capacity by approximately 60,000 additional beds by the 2030 FIFA World Cup, representing nearly a fifth of the current supply, Tourism Minister Fatima Zahra Ammor announced.
The country currently has around 300,000 hotel beds, according to official figures. The expansion aims to accommodate the expected influx of visitors for the tournament, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
Minister Ammor made the announcement during a press conference on July 20, 2026, outlining the government's strategy to boost tourism infrastructure ahead of the event. The plan includes new hotel constructions and upgrades to existing facilities.
Morocco's bid for the 2030 World Cup was successful, marking the first time the tournament will be held across three continents. The North African nation is investing heavily in transport, stadiums, and hospitality to meet FIFA requirements.
