Mouine Chaabani has officially left Moroccan club RS Berkane after two and a half years as head coach, following a request from the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF). The 45-year-old Tunisian technician was released by the club despite having a contract that ran until June 30, 2027.
Chaabani led RS Berkane to notable success, including winning the CAF Confederation Cup in 2022 and the Moroccan Throne Cup in 2023. His departure comes as the FTF seeks a new coach for the Carthage Eagles ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The FTF confirmed on July 16, 2026, that Chaabani had accepted the role, with his first match expected to be a friendly against Libya in August. The deal is reportedly for two years, with an option for extension based on performance.
