LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday approved the establishment of Aitchison-standard boys’ and girls’ schools across the province and gave the green light for the first Maryam Nawaz Centre of Academic Leadership in Lahore, according to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office.
The initiative aims to replicate the quality of education provided by Lahore's prestigious Aitchison College in public schools throughout Punjab. The first centre will be established in Lahore, with plans to expand to other districts.
During a meeting, the CM directed officials to ensure the centres meet international standards and provide modern facilities. She emphasized that the project would focus on academic excellence and leadership development for students.
No specific timeline or budget for the project was disclosed in the official statement. The announcement comes as part of the provincial government's broader education reform agenda.
