Incoming Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) director general Bryan Eiseb has been urged to lead the institution βlike a wolf and not a donkeyβ as he prepares to take office. The remarks were made by urban and rural development minister James Sankwasa during a public event on July 13, 2026, according to local media reports.
Sankwasa's comments come as Eiseb is set to replace the outgoing ACC head. The minister emphasized the need for a tough approach to tackling corruption in Namibia, stating that the ACC must be proactive and fearless in its investigations.
Eiseb, a former prosecutor, has not yet publicly responded to the remarks. The ACC is an independent body established under the Namibian Constitution to combat corruption. The appointment of a new director general is subject to approval by the President and the National Assembly.
