KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional (BN) deputy chairman Mohamad Hasan, also known as Tok Mat, has declared that the coalition will contest the Linggi state seat in Negeri Sembilan against incumbent Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun. Speaking at the unveiling of BN's candidates, Mohamad said, βHe wants to go to Linggi, weβll go after him,β according to a report by Malaysiakini on July 16, 2026.
The Linggi seat is considered an Umno stronghold, and Mohamad emphasized that BN would fight Aminuddin βto the end.β The statement comes amid preparations for the upcoming state election, with both coalitions positioning their candidates for key seats.
Aminuddin Harun, who currently serves as the Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan, is expected to defend the Linggi seat under the Pakatan Harapan banner. BNβs challenge signals a high-stakes political battle in the state.
