Morocco's exports to Italy totaled approximately 1.75 billion euros, while imports from Italy reached 3.0 billion euros. Key Moroccan exports include clothing, electrical equipment, and agricultural products, while Italy primarily exports machinery, vehicles, and pharmaceuticals to Morocco.
Despite the deficit, bilateral trade has shown resilience, with both countries seeking to strengthen economic ties. In 2026, the two nations have discussed new investment opportunities, particularly in renewable energy and infrastructure, which could help rebalance trade flows.
Economic analysts note that Morocco's deficit with Italy is part of a broader pattern with the European Union, but the country's growing manufacturing and export capacity may help narrow the gap in the coming years.
