Shoprite has announced that 98% of its Xtra Savings Plus members are using its newly launched AI shopping assistant, Pixie, making it one of the fastest-adopted tools in the platform's history, according to a company statement.
Pixie, described as a Tinder-style AI shopping assistant, is integrated into Shoprite's Sixty60 delivery app. It helps users discover products and build shopping lists through an interactive, swipe-based interface.
The company did not provide specific adoption figures for the broader Xtra Savings program or disclose the total number of Xtra Savings Plus members. Shoprite also did not comment on whether Pick n Pay's recent AI shopping assistant launch influenced Pixie's rollout.
As of July 2026, no independent verification of the 98% adoption rate was available. Shoprite's claim is based on internal data.
